The book also includes a description of Mitch’s memories of Morrie when he was a professor. These first three episodes of the Nightline special on Morrie and his illness were all about him.

A producer for the Nightline television show became interested in Morrie after reading an article with the same title.

Regarding his education, the author graduated from Brandeis University in Massachusetts with a degree in sociology.
