The 22-year-old has signed a four-year contract at St Mary’s Stadium, which is a significant acquisition as the Saints prepare for their Premier League season opener against Newcastle this Saturday.
Archer, who has faced challenges in recent seasons, makes his return to the Premier League after a loan stint at Sheffield United, where he scored four goals.
