Travis Barker Reveals He Was Diagnosed With ‘Life Threatening’ Pancreatitis
The drummer said that last Monday when he went in for an endoscopy, he was “feeling wonderful.”
He “had terrible discomfort after dinner and have been hospitalized ever then,” though.
He said, “During the endoscopy, a very small polyp that is typically addressed by specialists was removed right in a highly sensitive place, damaging a crucial pancreatic drainage channel.” “This caused severe, maybe fatal pancreatitis.”
I am so incredibly, incredibly grateful that I am currently substantially better thanks to intense treatment, he said. I’m grateful to God, and I adore him.
The “Keeping Up With The Kardashians” actress also posted a much longer explanation on her Instagram Stories.
Kourtney Kardashian Thanks Fans For The ‘Overwhelming Outpouring Of Love And Support
Oh, what a frightening and emotional week, Kourtney reflected. “Our health is everything, but we sometimes ignore how rapidly it can deteriorate.”
Travis developed severe, potentially fatal pancreatitis after she and she went in for a routine endoscopy together. “I am incredibly grateful to God for my husband’s recovery, for all of your prayers for him and for us, and for the overwhelmingly kind and supportive responses. I’m incredibly touched and grateful.
I am so, so grateful to our Cedars Sinai specialists, doctors, and nurses for taking such great care of my husband and me during our stay, she continued.
It’s funny how sometimes words could never completely communicate the gratitude or feelings I have inside of me, she continued a short while later.
Twenty minutes later, Kourtney continued, “Your heart is more strong, but language and voice carry energy. There is more to what your heart and soul feel than just a few letters. “I closed my eyes and chatted with you in a thousand silent ways,” says Rumi.
Fans are relieved to hear that both Travis and Kourtney are doing okay, especially since “The Kardashians” star suffered from COVID-19 after getting married in Italy just over a month ago. The Poosh founder took to her lifestyle blog to share tips on how to make COVID-19 symptoms more manageable, including vitamins, facial steamers, and essential oils.
The couple never shared if Travis had also been diagnosed with COVID-19 at the time.
Travis Barker ‘Could Barely Walk’ Prior To Tuesday’s Hospitalization
Earlier this week, a source told PEOPLE that Barker “could barely walk” prior to his hospitalization. The insider added that he had also been experiencing “extreme stomach pain.”
According to the Mayo Clinic, Vomiting, severe stomach pain, and nausea are pancreatitis symptoms. Every year, more than 200,000 new cases of pancreatitis are identified, but once the underlying source of the inflammation is identified, the prognosis is typically good.
According to the source, Travis had been “getting the best care at Cedars,” and doctors had begun performing tests as soon as he arrived. They also put him on a special diet; however, it is unknown how long he will need to follow this modified diet or whether he will fully recover.
