Check Out  The 7 Trendy Food Viral TikTok Posts That Define 2022

1. Burger crunch wraps

This burger crunch wrap, which @simplefood4you wrote about on January 1, 2022, got the year started off well. This TikTok recipe quickly gained popularity, garnering over 5 million likes.

Other TikTokers have since been inspired by this dish, which calls for two tortillas, chipotle mayo, a burger, American cheese slices, bacon, onions, and chips. Famous TikTok eater @kyleistook reinvented the burger crunch wrap with Flamin’ Hot Cheetos that were both whole and ground up.

Using ordinary mayo, ketchup, and even some French fries, @sandraelannan created her own take on the burger crunch wrap.

2. Healthy Coke

I wasn’t sure if this video was a prank or a real recipe when I first viewed it. The creator of this popular video, @mandyvjones, videos herself preparing what she claims is her pilates instructor’s healthy Coke substitute.

She then continues to add La Croix and a splash of balsamic vinegar, however, she claims that any fizzy drink will do. She then blends everything together to create a “healthy Coke.”

Many TikTok producers immediately grabbed their smartphones to record their responses to this “Coke replacement.” When @partyshirt attempted to make this popular beverage, they weren’t shy about sharing their early thoughts. The two TikTok developers recreate the cocktail using the exact same ingredients, take a sip, then look into the camera with comparable faces of bewilderment and slight disgust.

They claim that while it doesn’t taste horrible, it definitely doesn’t taste like a Coke. Before adding that they wouldn’t suggest or create this drink again, they say, “Just grab a Diet Coke if you want to save the calories.”

3. Green goddess salads

@bakedbymelissa produced and published the original green goddess salad video in September 2021. However, as other TikTokers attempted to make the popular recipe themselves, this salad—which includes vegetables like green cabbage, cucumber, chives, and green onions—quickly acquired popularity.

Although this video was somewhat well-liked when it first appeared, the green goddess salad craze saw a significant comeback in 2022. Since the salad’s originator, @hey.itsbel from Toronto, tried it herself, @clairethenutritionist created a “gut-friendly” variation, and even @kroger joined in on the fad, it looked like everyone in the globe was preparing it this year.

4. Jelly drink

On National Girlfriend Day, @williamsengg, the founder of TikTok, blogged about giving his girlfriend a “jelly drink,” leaving users in awe.

You might wonder, though, what a jelly drink is. It looks straightforward enough: just put two packets of gummy candies in a glass, add hot water, and swirl until the candies have dissolved. Then, chill the glass until it is ice cold, then top with flavor-infused milk.

The recipe was recreated by the creator, @justpearlm. In the video, she adds, “Since we got no boo, we’re going to make it for ourselves,” and the caption, “I’m my own boo,” is quite inspiring. So, regardless of whether you have a bug, you should try this dish!

5. Negroni Sbagliato (aka the ‘broken’ Negroni)

Emma D’Arcy nearly broke the internet during this HBOMax

During an HBOMax interview with House of Dragon co-star Olivia Cooke, Emma D’Arcy nearly broke the internet. Cooke asks D’Arcy a question during the interview that would lead to the public’s fixation with D’Arcy’s voice.

Cooke inquires, “What’s your preferred beverage,” to which D’Arcy responds,

“The Negroni. Sbagliato. With Prosecco in it,” D’Arcy replies, with lengthy pauses punctuating her rhythmic rejoinder.

Due to the timbre and cadence of D’Arcy’s voice in this clip, TikTokers went crazy, and the popular soundbite was soon used as the background of numerous social media postings. Many individuals recorded them producing this recipe, which essentially consists of equal parts Campari and sweet vermouth with Prosecco poured on top, for themselves.

Butter boards

The internet is being taken over with butter boards, and you either love it or can’t wait for this fad to pass. These boards have a straightforward concept: Add butter and your preferred toppings to a cutting board or serving plate, and presto! Have everyone start eating their preferred bread.

Butter wasn’t the first kind of board to become viral online. After the butter board idea gained popularity, TikTok users developed their own variations, some of which were completely satirical. Jimmy John’s created a ranch board, Ben & Jerry’s wrote about an ice cream board, and TikTok user @darapollak’s soup board went viral.

@benandjerrysYou didn’t think we’d miss out on this trend, did you? #benandjerrys #icecream #icecreamboard #dessertboard #recipe #butterboard #trending #foryou♬ original sound – benandjerrys

@jimmyjohnsparty hack – just pour kickin ranch all over a butcher block and go wild ? #ranchtok #butterboard♬ WET – SAK PASE

It’s up to you whether or not to attempt making your own butter board, but there’s no disputing that it was one of the hottest food trends on TikTok in 2022.

The Hailey Bieber strawberry glaze skin smoothie

Do you ever want to spend $17 on a smoothie? The strawberry glaze skin smoothie was released this past summer by the upscale food retailer Erewhon Market in collaboration with Hailey Bieber. The exorbitant cost of this smoothie may be explained by the abundance of components it contained, including berries, almond milk, avocado, dates, collagen, sea moss, protein powder, and hyaluronic acid.

This fad started when several TikTok makers looked for a less expensive way to replicate this smoothie. Using a Nutribullet, @bearenger of TikTok created her own rendition.

Although the combination seemed delicious and the flavor seemed to be on point based on her reaction, @bearenger’s caption coyly reads, “Mine wasn’t as pretty.” I’m willing to bet that many of us are willing to sacrifice the pretty aesthetic as long as we can save ourselves the $17.

We have to admit that these TikTok videos defined 2022 when it comes to food trends, whether or not we ever actually try one of them for ourselves. With 2023 right around the corner, it makes you wonder what wild and unexpected food trends are in store for the future.
