Jarrell Miller Outlasts Lenier Peró in Action-Packed WBA Eliminator

Jarrell Miller put on a relentless, high pressure performance to defeat Lenier Peró by unanimous decision in a thrilling WBA heavyweight title eliminator at the Fontainebleau Las Vegas.

From the opening bell, both fighters showed their intent, combining for a massive 1,652 punches thrown.

Peró came out sharp and composed in the early rounds. He landed clean, heavy punches that visibly shook Miller, including a hard left hook that briefly put him on the back foot.

He followed up in the second round with a disciplined attack, mixing sharp jabs, body shots, and uppercuts to keep Miller cautious and respect his power.

However, the fight began to shift in the third round.

Miller started to impose himself physically backing Peró toward the ropes and letting his hands go in bursts.

From that moment on, he took control of the tempo, throwing punches in volume and forcing Peró into a more defensive approach.

Round after round, Miller kept pressing forward, targeting both the head and body with a wide variety of punches.

His output proved to be the difference, as he threw an astonishing 1,003 punches, landing 290 for a 29% connect rate.

Peró remained resilient and sharp, landing 253 of 648 punches (39%), but struggled to match Miller’s pace and physical presence over the later rounds.

Despite Peró’s efficiency, Miller’s aggression, work rate, and ring control swayed the judges.

After 12 competitive rounds, the scorecards read 117-111, 117-111, and 115-113 all in favor of Miller.

Speaking after the fight, Miller made it clear that this performance was about more than just winning.

“I knew Peró was going to be tough, but I expected him to move a lot more,” Miller said. “I wasn’t looking for the knockout. I wanted to see what my conditioning was like and get back to throwing a lot of punches.”

With the victory, Miller positions himself in the heavyweight title picture and named Deontay Wilder as his next target.
