After deliberating for just over a day, the jury in her week-long murder trial found her guilty of first-degree murder, according to KFMB.

While cleaning Merriman’s house, Janks discovered hundreds of nude images categorized by body part, and some dated back to when she was 16 years old. Although she pleaded not guilty to murder, she acknowledged being quite unhappy.

“It was the worst, most heinous feeling I’ve ever experienced. I felt queasy and was unable to touch my own skin. She said during the trial, “I don’t know if there [are] words, not even in a movie have I seen something so awful.

How Merriman acquired the pictures for his PC is unknown. According to reports, some of them were taken voluntarily more than ten years previously by Janks’ then-boyfriend.

Merriman was an alcoholic who frequently combined alcohol with sleeping drugs, according to her attorneys, and there was no proof that he had been strangled.

According to KNSD, the sedative zolpidem, which is a generic version of Ambien, was the official cause of death.

However, the prosecution claimed that Merriman’s passing “was no accident.”

Deputy District Attorney Jorge Del Portillo Report

According to KFMB, Deputy District Attorney Jorge Del Portillo told the jury that “this was murder by the plan.”

Text messages that Janks, his caregiver, sent after picking him up from the hospital on the day he passed away were made public by the prosecution.

“I just dosed him completely. Whiskey pit stop followed by a stall in Dixieland. One text purportedly sent by Janks stated, “LMK.”

At his April 3 sentencing, Janks faces a sentence of 25 years to life in prison.
