According to The San Diego Union-Tribune, a California lady Jade Janks Murders Step Dad after finding sexual pictures of herself on his computer.

Thomas Merriman, 64, was discovered dead in his Solano Beach, California, a condominium in January 2021. Jade Janks, 39, has entered a not-guilty plea.

According to the Union-Tribune, Deputy District Attorney Jorge Del Portillo told the jury this week that “this was no accident.” “This was intentional murder.”

When Janks discovered the naked pictures of her on Merriman’s computer, the prosecution claims that she purposefully overdosed him with sleeping pills before Jade Janks Murders Step Dad.

The pictures were apparently taken consensually by Janks and her lover more than ten years prior, although it was unclear how they ended up on Merriman’s computer. According to reports, one of the images was used as the screensaver.

According to the state, Janks discovered the pictures while cleaning the house while Merriman was in the hospital. Also, according to the newspaper, Merriman and Janks’ mother were divorced but Janks continued to help Merriman.

A crusader for butterflies and interior designer Janks allegedly emailed a man about how she overdosed Merriman.

“I just dosed him completely. The state claims that at 11:30 a.m. on the day Merriman was discharged from the hospital, Janks texted, “Stopping for whiskey than at Dixieland to delay. LMK.” Janks allegedly made mention of striking Merriman in another text exchange.

According to KNSD-TV, Janks allegedly texted, “He’s waking up.” I truly don’t want to take on this responsibility. As he is awakening, I am going to club him in the head.

Also, according to the Union-Tribune, another text message states: “I can’t keep a kicking body in my trunk and I can’t carry him alone.”

At some point, Janks requested assistance from someone, and that person the next day informed authorities.

Merriman’s corpse was discovered inside the house by responding police officers who had discovered stacks of garbage, boxes, and blankets.

Marc Carlos, the defense attorney for Janks, contended that his client did not murder her former stepfather, whose demise he claimed was brought on by his drunkenness, poor health, and personal effort at self-medication.

“The medical examiner won’t admit that the victim was strangled. According to the Union-Tribune, Carlos told the jury that “science does not support strangulation.”
