Along with serving on the boards of the Arlington Community Foundation, the Arlington District Boy Scouts of America, the Alexandria Boys Club, and First American Bank, among many other professionals, businesses, and charitable organizations, he also received the John Carroll Society Archdiocese of Washington DC medal in 2015.

He loved sports and played golf all the time. He took part in numerous tournaments all over the world, but his favorite part of the sport was the companionship.

The Burning Tree Club was the chairman’s favorite among the groups and organizations he belonged to.
