Patel was arrested after a video of his outburst was posted online. He was seen yelling anti-Semitic slurs and engaging in physical altercations with other passengers. The incident was captured on video, showing Patel being put in a headlock by another passenger before being escorted off the plane.
It was gathered that during the altercation, Patel allegedly used derogatory language towards a flight attendant and fellow passengers. He was heard calling a flight attendant a ‘k**k’ and expressed frustration about difficulties in reaching his home country.
Patel faces two counts of battery and one count of disorderly conduct. He remains in jail on a $2,150 bond. His arrest records indicate that he is self-employed in IT.
American Airlines issued a statement apologizing for the inconvenience caused by the incident. The airline thanked its team for their professionalism during the incident.

The flight crew’s reaction to the situation was to intervene and ensure the safety and comfort of all passengers. When the unruly passenger began to act disruptively, including hurling an antisemitic slur at a flight attendant, the crew and other passengers took swift action. A man in a blue pullover confronted the unruly individual, leading to a physical altercation. The man in blue put the unruly passenger in a headlock, restraining him until further assistance arrived. A woman, identified as a police officer, intervened and assisted in escorting the unruly passenger off the plane, along with another flyer who had a sleeve tattoo. The Tampa International Airport Police Department confirmed that the man was arrested outside the aircraft and charged with disorderly intoxication and two counts of battery.
