Thiago And Ramos Miss Out On Spain World Cup Squad
Liverpool player Thiago And Ramos Miss Out On Spain World Cup Squad: Luis Enrique has chosen a youthful lineup that includes Pedri and Gavi, while attacker Ansu Fati will compete in his first big competition. Thiago has been one of Liverpool’s greatest players during their poor season, but he will not play in Qatar 2022.
Ramos has fallen out of favor with Enrique after also missing the European Championships last year, despite being injured for much of the season.
However, he has been a crucial component in PSG’s defense this season, and it appears like the 36-year-old will not play in another
World Cup in his career. Borja Iglesias of Real Betis is an unexpected omission, after a fantastic season in which he scored eight goals in 14 La Liga games. Leeds defender Diego Llorente is also absent, while Dani Carvajal, Jordi Alba, Sergio Busquets, Koke, and Alvaro Morata are all present.
“I think there are players who deserve to be there, I’m the first to admit it. This is my and my staff’s selection.
“There is no doubt what you are going to see in the World Cup. We will try to control the game, dominate and create more than our opponents.
“I think our rivals will see Spain among the candidates to win the tournament.”
Spain plays Costa Rica on November 23 in their first match, before facing Germany on November 27, in one of the biggest group-stage clashes, and takes on Japan on December 1.
