The representative for Sterling claimed that the reason the player departed the England camp was to “prioritize the wellbeing” of his three young children.

He was not there for England’s 3-0 victory against Senegal in the round of 16, but he is anticipated to rejoin the group on December 9 in Al Wakrah.

In their opening World Cup match against Iran, England defeated them 6-2 thanks in part to a goal by Sterling, who has 81 international caps.

He also started the scoreless draw with the United States and was not used as a substitute in the 3-0 victory over Wales, which helped England top their group and advance to the next round.

Sterling’s Family

Sterling’s family was at home on Saturday, according to his representative, when there were “armed intruders.” The former Manchester City and Liverpool forward were reportedly “shaken” and worried for the welfare of his kids.

When the homeowners discovered jewelry and a watch missing from their home, Surrey police indicated they were looking into a burglary report but denied any threats of violence were made.

The police stated on Wednesday that they are not connecting the case to a different attempted break-in in the same village. In connection with the break-in at Sterling’s house, no arrests have been made as of yet.

The Football Association has not yet disclosed all of the information it received regarding the event before Sterling’s departure.
