Ali-Albulayhi Reveals Messi Taunt: When Saudi Arabia defeated Argentina in their opening group game on Tuesday in Qatar, they pulled off one of the biggest World Cup upsets.

With two games remaining, Saudi Arabia now has three points after two quick goals in the second half handed the favorites, led by Lionel Messi’s early penalty, the lead. The confrontation between Messi and the defender was later made public by Ali Albulayhi. In a shocking 2-1 victory over Argentina at the 2022 World Cup, Saudi Arabia’s Ali Albulayhi, a defender, revealed what he shouted in the face of Messi.

After the game, he told the press what he said to Messi in the mixed zone. Messi initially acted shocked before grinning broadly.

He said, “I warned him they wouldn’t win. It was a bold statement for the player to make with more than 30 minutes left in the game, but he was proven right when Argentina was unable to dismantle their opponents.

Even after Messi gave his team the lead from the penalty spot 10 minutes into the first half, the underdog Middle Eastern team rallied to score two goals without a reply from Messi or his teammates.

Argentina is under increased pressure to perform well in their next two group stage matches, first against Mexico on Saturday and then against Poland the following Wednesday, in order to advance and maintain their Copa America winning momentum.

Messi becomes the first player to score in four

Saudi Arabia’s next matches will be played in the opposite order from the Argentines’, with Poland coming up first before Mexico in their third game.

Due to their access to some of the top players in the modern game, like Lautaro Martinez, Paulo Dybala, and Angel Di Maria, Argentina under Messi has been pegged as one of the favorites to win the 2022 World Cup crown.

They also have Lisandro Martinez from Manchester United at the back, but despite their pedigree of players who play for some of the top teams in Europe, they began the season with a shocking loss.
