France Call Up Striker Thuram For Qatar: Marcus Thuram, a striker, has been given the final position on the France team that will defend its World Cup championship in Qatar.
The Borussia Monchengladbach forward was reportedly included in coach Didier Deschamps’ preliminary roster for the competition, according to the French soccer association.
When Deschamps revealed his team last week, he had only called up 25 players, leaving one position available.

Along with Karim Benzema (Real Madrid), Kingsley Coman (Bayern Munich), Ousmane Dembele (Barcelona), Olivier Giroud (AC Milan), Antoine Griezmann (Atletico Madrid), Kylian Mbappe (PSG), and Christopher Nkunku. Thuram will bolster France’s already excellent attacking group (Leipzig).
Thuram, the son of Lilian Thuram, who won the 1998 World Cup, has been in excellent form this season. He scored 13 goals and dished out four assists across all competitions.

He is a tall, adaptable player who works in several systems.
Thuram, 25, has played four times for France, although he hasn’t competed for his country since the European Championship in June of last year.
On Wednesday, the team departs for Qatar in preparation for its first match against Australia.
Meanwhile, Marcus Lilian Thuram-Ulien is a French professional football player. He competes for France national team and Bundesliga club Borussia Mönchengladbach as a forward or left winger.
