Chinese Grand Prix 2023 Cancelled By Formula 1, the decision was made on Friday morning, and as a result, there are currently only 23 races on the calendar. The Portimao circuit in Portugal, which was present for both the 2020 and 2021 seasons, has been mentioned as one of a number of potential replacements.

The inaugural Saturday night race in Las Vegas, which is presently slated for November 18, will also be on the agenda.

Chinese Grand Prix 2023 Cancelled By Formula 1

Following rumors that appeared last month, Formula 1 has now officially announced that the 2023 Chinese Grand Prix will be postponed due to the nation’s continuing tight Covid regulations.

After a four-year absence, the sport was slated to return to China with the fourth event of the season scheduled for April 16.
However, because of China’s decision to enact a zero-Covid policy and the fact that it still imposes severe regulations and lockdowns, it was decided that a race could not be held at the Shanghai International Circuit.

This cancellation has, at least temporarily, reduced the schedule to 23 races, but alternate events have already been thought of.

However, according to Sky Sports, F1 is not in a rush to close the existing four-week gap in April between the Australian and Azerbaijani Grand Prix. Also, with several parties interested in competing, such as Portugal, they shouldn’t have any trouble filling the vacancy.

The race would take place at the Portimao circuit, which was scheduled for the seasons of 2020 and 2021.

The 2023 schedule would see the debut of a Saturday night race in Las Vegas, with the event scheduled for Saturday night rather than its customary Sunday time slot.
Also, the Grand Prix is set for November 18. It will be the season’s penultimate event before the customary season finale in Abu Dhabi a week later.

Vegas has previously hosted races in 1981 and 1982, but this will mark the first time it will include the famed Vegas Strip as well as the key attractions of the desert city.

It would be the third race held in the US the following year, with Grand Prix events also scheduled for Austin and Miami among a record-breaking 23 races.
