AIK Fotboll have officially refused to release Nigerian winger Zadok Yohanna for the upcoming Unity Cup in London.
In a statement released by the Swedish club, AIK confirmed their pride in Yohanna’s national team invitation but explained the decision to keep him.
“AIK Fotboll is proud of Zadok Yohanna, who has been selected for Nigeria’s national team ahead of their participation in the Unity Cup in London.
“However, the club has decided not to release him for the national team assignment this time.”
The club further revealed that Yohanna is currently in the final stage of rehabilitation, with AIK’s medical staff advising against participation in competitive international matches to avoid risking a setback in his recovery.
The decision has sparked disappointment among fans, many of whom were eager to see the highly-rated youngster represent the Super Eagles.

Yohanna has enjoyed a standout campaign, registering nine goal contributions in 12 appearances across all competitions for AIK this season.
His rapid rise has reportedly attracted interest from European heavyweights including AFC Ajax, Bayer 04 Leverkusen, and Borussia Dortmund.
All three clubs are said to be monitoring the development of the talented right winger.
