Michele Tafoya, an American sportscaster, has announced her retirement. From 2011 to 2021, she worked as a reporter for NBC Sports, most notably as a sideline reporter for NBC Sunday Night Football.
An American sportscaster who worked as a host and reporter for KFAN-AM in Minneapolis, primarily covering Minnesota Vikings and University of Minnesota women’s basketball broadcasts. Mickey Conley was a radio personality for the Charlotte station WAQS-AM.
She previously worked as a host and sideline reporter for the Minnesota Timberwolves on the Midwest Sports Channel, as well as a play-by-play commentator for Big Ten women’s basketball and volleyball.

Michele Tafoya’s NFL sideline reporting career will come to an end after NBC broadcasts Super Bowl LVI on Feb. 13, according to an NBC Sports press release published Tuesday.
According to Richard Deitsch of The Athletic, Tafoya’s sideline reporting career will have spanned 327 games (301 regular-season contests, 21 playoff matchups, and five Super Bowls).

Tafoya began her sports journalism career in 1993 and began working for NBC Sports and Sunday Night Football in 2011.
The 57-year-old has won multiple awards over her three-decade career in sports media, including four Sports Emmys for Outstanding Sports Personality (Sports Reporter).

Tafoya worked for ABC/ESPN for a decade before joining NBC, most notably as a Monday Night Football reporter. She also worked as a reporter for ESPN’s NFL studio broadcasts.
Al Michaels, the play-by-play announcer for Monday Night Football and Sunday Night Football on ABC and NBC, worked with Tafoya on several of those shows. He made these remarks after learning about Tafoya’s departure.
