The Google Doodle pays tribute to disability rights pioneer Stacey Park Milbern, whose death and birth dates coincide. On May 19, 2020, she died as a result of a surgery complication while being treated for kidney cancer.

Her cancer was rapidly progressing, but her surgery was postponed after the country adopted a stay-at-home-order. After three months, she was finally able to have the operation, but she died on her thirty-third birthday due to complications.

Her service to the handicap community will be recognized for the rest of her life. Her condition was congenital muscular dystrophy, which she had had since birth.

Although she used to walk as a young child, she began using a wheelchair later on, which led to increased disability awareness and activism, as per Cnet.com.

As a result, at the age of 16, she began working in disability rights leadership roles. She went on to form the North Carolina Kids Leadership Forum and the Disabled Young People’s Collective, both of which were founded with the goal of empowering disabled kids to engage in advocacy and leadership.

She also served on the North Carolina Commission for the Blind, which was appointed by the Governor of North Carolina, from 2006 to 2008. When she was 24, she relocated to the San Francisco Bay Area, a hotbed of the disability rights movement, and continued her work there.

Congenital muscular dystrophy is a condition that Stacey Park M was born with. It describes a category of muscular dystrophies that occur shortly after birth or after birth.

She grew up with her family as carers, but when she came out as a lesbian, she opted to relocate. She was worried that her parents would reject her gender identity.

Although she would have problems doing everyday activities like eating, sleeping, and using the bathroom, she decided because she was afraid of her evangelical Christian parents. 

Stacey Park Milbern died as a result of her illness. She had kidney cancer, which was rapidly progressing. However, she died at the age of 33 due to delayed surgery and difficulties on the operating table.

Despite her condition, she kept working as an activist and assisting others in need. When the coronavirus epidemic broke out in early 2020, she worked with the Disability Justice Culture Club from her Oakland home to provide homemade disease-prevention kits to homeless people.
