Vanna White Discusses First Day And Future On ‘Wheel Of Fortune’ Show

Vanna White, a co-host of “Wheel of Fortune” with Pat Sajak since 1982, spoke about her first day on the show and what she plans to do when Pat Sajak retires. During a very honest conversation, she mentioned that she was nervous on her first day and felt as if she were going to pass out because it was a game only for the cool kids.

Vanna who had never been on television before says being there was pretty overwhelming especially since it’s live TV but luckily Pat Sajak had always been very supportive which made it a lot easier.

She said he always would tell her to focus and that she’d do great; he even let her hold onto his hand for a little bit at the beginning and be on camera alone because this way it’d feel like they were in it together. As she talks about him mentoring or teaching during those early days one can see how much he has meant not just personally but professionally too.

With his retirement approaching after these decades together there is part of her that wants him gone so much (Vanna joked about this saying she was glad he’d finally be out of her hair) but at the same time, she doesn’t know how they are going to go on without each other

She compared their partnership to reading a great book that has to be finished sometime and stressed out what an impact he has had as well as what it means for her future working as his co-host.

However, there will be changes once he leaves us alone on stage with those letters because now I want some space up here too dammit!” A couple of years more asked whether would retire from TV herself anytime soon and replied by saying “I don’t know, we’ll see… but right now I love my job and I’m just thankful that I still enjoy coming to work every day”.

“I’ve been here for almost forty years now but all in all things cannot have been better” she added before emphasizing once again how much joy both professionally and personally broadcasting next Sajak has brought into her life throughout these years.
