To choose an egg donor, the couple used a concierge service but did not mention whose sperm was used in the process. They wished their child to inherit general qualities rather than look like a specific person because they believe nurture is more important than nature.

In May 2023, after being married, they started trying to become parents, which was a big step in their lives together. Underwood met Brown in April 2021 at a party, where they fell in love almost immediately and got engaged by February 2022.
