After the season, it was determined that he had spent the majority of the season playing on a broken ankle. In the 2018 SEC Championship Game against the Georgia Bulldogs, he ran for 83 yards and two touchdowns, earning MVP honors.

With the 24th overall pick in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft, the Oakland Raiders selected Jacobs.
