The airline, in a statement, expressed regret over the incident involving their aircraft, registration number SN BKI, which was flying from Abuja to Lagos. The statement confirmed that all 83 passengers and crew onboard the flight disembarked safely without injuries or fear, highlighting the crew’s professional handling of the situation.

Dana Air has updated the Accident Investigation Bureau (AIB) and the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) on the incident, indicating its commitment to cooperating fully with the relevant authorities to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident. The airline has also grounded the aircraft involved for further investigation by its maintenance team.

In January 2018, a commercial aircraft belonging to Dana Air, with registration number 5N-DEV from Port Harcourt, hit a fence at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, while trying to park after landing. No injuries were reported, but the incident was attributed to the aircraft’s pilot.

The airline’s response to the recent incident reflects its commitment to passenger safety and its willingness to cooperate with aviation authorities in investigating and addressing safety concerns.
