A Body was Found In Search of 43-year-old Cari Allen In Topeka, according to the Nebraskan Douglas County Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday.
As previously noted by CrimeOnline, 43-year-old Allen vanished on November 19 at about 11 p.m. In Douglas County, Nebraska, close to 168th and Blondo streets, she was last seen. The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and the Topeka Police Department in Kansas worked together to search both states after she vanished.
ABC 7 reports that until an autopsy is finished, authorities cannot definitively say whether the body discovered belongs to Allen. They discovered the body in Topeka, where Aldrick Scott, Allen’s boyfriend, lived before leaving for Central America after Allen vanished.
Scott was accused of kidnapping Allen and participating in a crime last month. According to NBC 6, a tip sent authorities to Belize, where Scott was captured and extradited back to the United States.
Although Scott allegedly claimed to be in Kansas at the time Allen vanished, investigators pinged his phone close to Allen’s residence in Douglas County. In addition to finding a weapon in Scott’s car, the police also discovered gunshot holes in Allen’s house.
According to scanner data from the Topeka Police Department, a third party called 911 on November 21 and said Scott had slain his girlfriend. That same evening, Scott’s house was searched. 11 hours were spent by the investigators at the house.
This is a developing story, and we’ll update it as more details are learned. Return for updates.
