5 Women File Sexual Assault Allegations Against Bill Cosby

5 Women File Sexual Assault Allegations Against Bill Cosby: According to a complaint submitted this week under New York’s new Adult Survivor’s Act, Bill Cosby has been subject to fresh allegations of sexual assault and sexual abuse.

Lili Bernard and Eden Tirl, two actresses who starred on “The Cosby Show,” together with three other women, filed a lawsuit against Cosby, alleging assault, violence, causing emotional distress, and false imprisonment. According to WABC, the lawsuit also accuses NBCUniversal Media, Kaufman Astoria Studios, and The Carsey-Werner Company of negligence.

Actresses Jewel Gittens, Jennifer Thompson, and ex-entertainment executive Cindra Ladd, who is wed to producer Alan Ladd Jr., make up the other three accusers.

According to the lawsuit, Cosby “abused his great influence in such a sinister, awful manner,” including the power, celebrity, and prestige granted to him by defendants NBCUniversal Media, LLC, Kaufman Astoria Studios, Inc., and The Carsey-Werner Company, LLC.

Cosby refuted the claims in a statement released by his agents.

Due to the Adult Survivors Act, which became effective on Thanksgiving, lawsuits may now be brought in situations where they would have otherwise expired. One of the five women, Ladd, accused Cosby of raping her in 1969, but most of the charges came from the 1980s and 1990s.

The accusations made against the 85-year-old actor in the complaint are similar to those made against him by Andrea Constand. A worker at Temple University. In 2018, Cosby was found guilty of sexually assaulting Constand. However, the conviction was overturned three years later by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court. It ruled that Cosby should not have been prosecuted due to a deal he made with the Montgomery County prosecutor.

Cosby allegedly drugged and assaulted Bernard, including once in 1990 when he set up a meeting with her to advance her career, claims the lawsuit.

“Bill Cosby drugged Ms. Bernard without her knowledge by mixing an unidentified sedative into a supposedly alcohol-free beverage that he had made and given to Ms. Bernard. Bill Cosby undressed and sexually assaulted Ms. Bernard without her consent after she became intoxicated, according to the lawsuit.

Tirl, according to the lawsuit, refused invitations to meet Cosby in his dressing room. When she appeared in a small role on his television program until she was instructed to go. Cosby allegedly approached her from behind, pinning her arms to her sides, before raping her, according to the lawsuit.

A jury this summer found in favor of Judy Huth, who claimed that Cosby had sexually assaulted her when she was 16 years old and ordered him to pay her $500,000 in damages. Cosby declined to testify at the trial, citing his Fifth Amendment privilege against self-incrimination.
