21-year-old Christopher Martinez In Custody For Murder

Two women and a man were shot dead at a home in Aurora on Friday, and a 21-year-old Christopher Martinez In Custody For Murder has been charged with first-degree murder in connection with their death.

The Aurora Police Department reported that Christopher Martinez was taken into custody early on Saturday, about 5:30 a.m., 24 hours after family members initially contacted officers to check on him at home.

When the police got to the location on Friday around 5:15 p.m., they found nothing odd and nothing that would justify breaking into the house. The officers informed the family before leaving.

Family members showed up at the house and were allowed admission around an hour and a half later. They discovered the three unresponsive victims inside, who were all obviously shot.

A short while afterward, they were declared dead.

Before arresting Martinez early on Saturday, detectives looked into the case all night. He was recognized by the victims, who were all members of the same family, according to the police, who first contacted him Friday night at the scene.

While waiting for favorable confirmation and relative notification, their identities have not yet been made public.

Art Acevedo, acting chief of the Aurora Police Department, said, “This senseless violence is unfathomable.” The culprit has been apprehended thanks to the efforts of our committed staff, and our community may now exhale with relief. Our thoughts are with the victims’ families.

According to KCNC, who looked through Arapahoe County court records, Christopher Martinez, age 21, had no prior criminal activity.
