Rikki Neave’s mother has said she intends to challenge her 26-year-old conviction for child abuse violations as a man is sentenced for the 1994 death of her son.

Over 28 years ago, Rikki’s body was found murdered in some woods close to Peterborough. Neave asserted that she disputes all allegations and that her attorneys persuaded her to enter a guilty plea to all charges.

In order to help him look over a barrier, Watson allegedly hoisted Rikki. Investigators, however, came across old TV footage from the period that didn’t have a fence.

Jurors heard Watson use an anorak collar or rope to strangle his victim in order to fulfill a “morbid fantasy.” The offender then stripped Rikki naked and posed him in the shape of a star for his own pleasure.

She now maintains that she has spent over 30 years living under suspicion of killing Rikki, and she is making an effort to clear her name. James Watson was found guilty of killing Rikki this year, and Neave claimed she was haunted by suspicion the entire time.

On November 28, 1994, Rikki and his mother left for home. Early in the morning, he left the house and did not come back.

The killer had purposely positioned him in the shape of a star when he was found dead the following day in nearby woods, naked.

Neither Ruth Neave nor her case has yet to be included on the official Wikipedia page. Prior to Friday’s sentencing, Rikki’s mother, Ruth Neave, who was exonerated of murder in 1996, stated on a BBC programme that she wanted a police apology.

Ms Neave was sentenced to prison for child abuse even though she was not found guilty of killing her son; she later claimed that she had been “bullied” into confessing to the charge.

A jury at the Old Bailey found Watson guilty and sentenced him to a minimum of 15 years in jail seven years after a cold case investigation into Rikki’s murder was opened.

On November 28, 1994, around six o’clock, Rikki’s mother reported her son missing. At 9.30 a.m., Rikki left for school after eating Weetabix for breakfast, but he never came back.

Rikki was seen that morning with James Watson, according to Ruth’s neighbours. At 6:17 p.m., Cambridgeshire Police officers arrived at Ruth’s residence on Redmile Walk. The next morning, they found Rikki’s naked body in the nearby forest.
