The youngster screamed for help shortly after hitting the 10-inch hollow pillar. Authorities tried to save the small child for more than 100 hours, but they were unable.
Nam and his friends were searching the construction site for scrap iron on New Year’s Eve when the catastrophe occurred.
He was unable to escape on his own after falling down the 115-foot-deep pillar during the search, which proved to be fatal.
Rescuers tried every method at their disposal for over five days to save the child.
They poured oxygen in, dropped water for him to drink, and removed the debris surrounding the pillar so they could remove it and save the child.
10-year-old Ly Hao Nam Death: What Happened Him?
A Vietnamese boy named Ly Hao Nam was found stuck inside a pillar and was pronounced dead.
According to reports, Nam and his companions were looking for scrap iron when Nam went into the pillar. The pillar was situated at a bridge-building site in the province of the Mekong delta.
On December 31, 2022, a 10-year-old child from the area crashed into a pillar.
All chance of saving the young child was gone when he was pronounced dead more than 100 hours after the rescue attempt began.
The victim was declared dead by the authorities, according to Doan Tan Buu, the vice chairman of Dong Thap province in the south.
To prepare for the burial, the rescuers are currently attempting to remove the 10-year-old boy’s body from inside the pillar.
Ly Hao Nam Rescue Attempts
Officials made every effort to free Ly Hao Nam from the pillar.
Rescuers in Dong Thap attempted to cut the youngster free from the pillar by raising it out of the 115-foot-deep hole.
In an effort to raise the pillar, they had begun clearing away the muck and water around it. Nam was given oxygen through the little pillar to help him breathe.
The youngster was also given access to water that was dropped within the pillar. But there were no indications that he had consumed any.
Pham Minh Chinh, the prime minister of Vietnam, encouraged local officials and rescuers to employ all techniques and tools necessary to save the 10-year-old.
For the safe retrieval of the youngster, Vietnamese authorities dispatched over a hundred soldiers and engineering specialists.
The 10-year-cries old’s for assistance were heard after he hit the pillar. After the event, he continued to yell for some time.
Rescuers did not hear from him, though, when a camera was lowered into the shaft on Monday.
All of those efforts, though, were in vain because the young child had already passed away. His body is currently being sought after by authorities so that it can be properly buried.
