Unstoppable! Sinner Cruises Into Italian Open Fourth Round

World No.1 Jannik Sinner delivered another commanding performance at the Italian Open, defeating Alexei Popyrin 6-2, 6-0 to advance to the fourth round in emphatic fashion.

Sinner was in complete control throughout the contest, giving world No. 60 Popyrin little opportunity to settle into the match.

The Italian star showcased his trademark power, precision, and consistency as he extended his remarkable unbeaten streak to 25 matches.

The top-ranked player has not suffered a defeat since February 19, when he lost to Jakub Mensik in the quarterfinals of the Qatar Open.

Sinner will next face fellow Italian Andrea Pellegrino in the fourth round after Pellegrino produced one of the biggest upsets of the tournament.

Pellegrino stunned American star Frances Tiafoe, saving two set points in a tense first-set tiebreak before sealing a 7-6(8), 6-1 victory over the world No. 17.

With Carlos Alcaraz withdrawing from both the Italian Open and the upcoming French Open due to a right wrist injury sustained at the Barcelona Open, Sinner is now widely regarded as the overwhelming favorite to capture the Italian Open title.
