Super Eagles Star Apologizes over Disciplinary Issue

Nigerian midfielder, Alex Iwobi has issued an apology following his red card incident during the international friendly against Jordan.

Speaking in a recent vlog, Iwobi admitted that his reaction in the closing stages of the match fell below expectations and extended his apology to teammates, staff, and supporters of Nigerian football.

He also pointed out that the team can still take positives from the game despite the incident.

“I think I was yarning to address what I did and apologize to all my Nigerian teammates staffs and all the people that care about Nigeria, my actions weren’t good enough, I am sorry. It’s done we have to move on it’s gone we didn’t lose the game we have to take the positives from it.”

Iwobi was sent off deep into second half stoppage time after a heated altercation with Amer Jamous.

The incident occurred when Jamous cynically held him back during a late Nigerian counterattack, prompting an angry reaction from Iwobi that escalated into a physical confrontation.

Match officials subsequently ruled it as violent conduct, resulting in his dismissal.
