History of the cook-off
The grand event, held at Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos, was staged on September 12, 2025. Hilda, already celebrated for her Guinness World Record in 2023 for the longest cooking marathon, set her sights on another remarkable milestone.
Backed by top brands, celebrities like Funke Akindele, Enioluwa, Tomike, and Pastor Idowu, as well as Bamidele Abiodun, wife of the Ogun State Governor, she cooked what became the biggest pot of jollof rice ever recorded.

While thousands congratulated her, the event was not without criticism. Some attendees claimed the food was not tasty, sparking online debates. Despite the mixed reactions, the scale and execution of the cook-off solidified Hilda’s reputation as one of Nigeria’s most daring and record-breaking culinary stars.
A new chapter for Hilda
This achievement adds to Hilda’s growing legacy in the culinary world, placing Nigerian jollof firmly on the global stage once again.
With less than three years between her two Guinness World Records, she continues to inspire young Africans with her courage to dream big and execute against the odds.
