D’Tigers of Nigeria continued their winning streak at the 2025 Afrobasket Championship with a 87-66 victory over defending champions Tunisia, making it back-to-back wins for the former African kings.
NBA star Josh Okogie was unplayable from start to finish, scoring a game-high 33 points, leading Nigeria to a win that puts them on top of Group B ahead of their final group match against Cameroon.

How It Happened: Quarter-by-Quarter
1st Quarter: Nigeria 29 – 16 Tunisia
Nigeria came out flying, opening the game with a 10-0 run.
Josh Okogie was red-hot early, scoring 10 points in the first quarter including a slam dunk and an and-one.
The D’Tigers showed intent and physicality, setting the tone with a 13-point lead after Q1.
2nd Quarter: Nigeria 48 – 33 Tunisia (HT)
Tunisia tried to respond, but couldn’t stop the D’Tigers’ momentum. Nigeria’s lead ballooned to 20 points at a stage, before Tunisia closed the half stronger.
Still, Nigeria went into halftime up by 15. Okogie continued his dominance, ending the first half with 19 points.
3rd Quarter: Nigeria 68 – 47 Tunisia
The third quarter saw Nigeria once again control proceedings, with the gap growing to 21 points. Josh Okogie reached 27 points by the end of the quarter as Nigeria’s defense limited Tunisia’s rhythm.
4th Quarter: Nigeria 87 – 66 Tunisia (FT)

Okogie finished off a near-perfect night with 33 points, closing as the star of the game.
Tunisia, despite a late push, were unable to cut into Nigeria’s cushion, as D’Tigers closed out with authority.
