The Trump Administration has revoked more than 300,000 visas since he began his second term in January 2025, the State Department said on Tuesday, as the government continues to tighten immigration enforcement.
The latest figure marks a significant increase from the more than 175,000 visa revocations reported by the department on 10 August.
In announcing the latest number on X, State Department spokesman Tommy Pigott said the Trump administration “has revoked more visas at a faster pace than any administration in history.”
Pigott said the administration had “zero tolerance for foreigners here on visas who break the law, commit fraud, or undermine our national security.”
While Trump campaigned in 2024 on stopping illegal immigration, his administration has also made legal immigration more difficult — for example, by imposing expensive fees for certain work visas.
The State Department is also expected to revoke B1 and B2 visas issued between 2016 and 2026 to holders who have sought asylum or are now seeking it, according to State Department documents obtained by The Associated Press.
The Department will take this action in coordination with the Department of Homeland Security.
