Atalanta have rejected a €42 million bid plus €3 million in add-ons from Inter Milan for Ademola Lookman.
The club remains firm on their €50 million asking price, while Inter are unwilling to meet that valuation.
Earlier this week, Inter President Beppe Marotta addressed the rumors surrounding Lookman. He confirmed the club’s interest but stated they have no intention of overpaying.
Marotta made it clear that if Atalanta don’t accept their offer, Inter will move on to other targets.
Inter have already identified Chelsea forward Christopher Nkunku as a backup option should the Lookman deal fall through.
Chelsea are open to selling Nkunku, who is expected to cost around £35 million.
Lookman is reportedly very angry about the situation and wants to leave Atalanta as soon as possible.
He has unfollowed the club on Instagram, removed Atalanta from his bio, and deleted all photos related to the club — including those from their Europa League triumph.
On Sunday, the 27 year-old issued a statement, where he revealed he has submitted a transfer request.
Ademola Lookman still has a contract with Atalanta until 2027 and the current African Player of the Year is valued at €60.00m.
