An angry Galatasaray supporter has reportedly threatened Edoardo De Laurentiis, the son of Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis, via WhatsApp over the club’s refusal to sell Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen.
Using an unknown number, the fan introduced himself as “Turkish mafya” and issued threats demanding Napoli release Osimhen, warning Edoardo and his father of consequences if the deal was blocked. In response, Edoardo said he would forward the threatening messages to the police.
The full exchange between both parties has gone viral, with Edoardo first asking:
“Who is this” (1:46 p.m.), to which the unknown sender replied:
“Turkish mafya. Let Osimhen go or you’re finished” (1:47 p.m.).
The Napoli vice-president responded with:
“Fk you”** (1:49 p.m.), prompting more threats from the sender including:
“You and your dad will pay for this. Be careful.”
Edoardo quickly replied:
“I’m sending everything to the police.”
But the angry fan continued hurling insults before ending the chat.
The situation stems from Napoli’s recent rejection of Galatasaray’s €75 million offer for Osimhen.
Galatasaray proposed to pay the fee in five installments, but Napoli demanded immediate payment along with a bank guarantee.
According to sources, Galatasaray are offering €40 million upfront and an additional €35 million in installments.
Discussions are still ongoing regarding payment structure and bank guarantees.
Osimhen, who was expected to begin training with Galatasaray this week, reportedly submitted a sick note to skip sessions as he awaits a resolution between both clubs.
According to the latest report, Osimhen has already reached a verbal agreement on a three-year deal with Galatasaray.
The Turkish champions are planning to build their squad around him, and several of their new summer signings were made with his arrival in mind.
Despite interest from Al Hilal, Osimhen has turned down the Saudi Arabian club and made it clear that he is not open to a move to Asia at this time.
