Newly promoted Süper Lig side Kocaelispor have set their sights on Nigerian striker David Okereke.
The 26-year-old is open to the move and has already agreed to personal terms with the Turkish club.
Okereke is said to be impressed by the project laid out by the club’s technical director, Selçuk İnan — a familiar face from his time at Gaziantep FK.
Should the deal go through, Okereke would represent a statement signing for Kocaelispor.
The striker is seen as a key addition who can help the club maintain their top-flight status.
He spent last season on loan at Gaziantep FK from Serie B side Cremonese, making 30 league appearances, scoring 10 goals, and providing 3 assists — a decent return for a side that scored 50 goals across the campaign.
Talks between Kocaelispor and Cremonese are still ongoing, with the Turkish side hopeful of reaching a full agreement soon.
