Real Oviedo are interested in signing a Nigerian international, as the newly promoted side look to strengthen their defence ahead of the new LaLiga season, which begins this month.
Oviedo earned promotion to LaLiga last season after winning the playoffs. They conceded 42 goals in 42 matches in the Spanish second division.

The club understands that signing a defender is crucial to their hopes of retaining top-flight status, but with very limited funds, they can only dream of securing experienced players on loan or for a modest transfer fee.
This week, Oviedo approached FC Porto for Zaidu Sanusi on a straight loan deal, but the Portuguese club rejected the offer immediately.
Porto considered the proposal disrespectful, as Oviedo did not include a loan fee or an option-to-buy clause.
Despite rejecting Oviedo’s offer, Porto remain open to selling Zaidu but are not willing to be pressured into a rushed transfer.
The Nigerian left-back still has two years left on his contract.
Zaidu made just three league appearances last season, along with two UEFA Europa League outings.
He has 22 caps for Nigeria and was part of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations squad that reached the final.
