Three-time CAF Champions League winners, Raja Casablanca are showing strong interests in Stanley Nwabali, according to reports from Moroccan outlet El Botola.
The 29-year-old goalkeeper, who currently plays for South African club Chippa United, has emerged as a top target for the Moroccan giants as they continue a major squad rebuild.
Raja currently have two goalkeepers on their roster—El Mehdi Al Harrar and Yassine Zoubir—but are eager to strengthen the position ahead of the new season.
According to Transfermarkt, Raja Casablanca have yet to spend on transfer fees this window, having secured the signings of Badr Benoun, Mohamed Al-Makahasi, and Moses Orcuma—all on free transfers.
Nwabali could become the club’s first cash signing this summer.
Respected journalist Micky Jr reports that Chippa United are demanding $600,000 for their captain. Nwabali, for his part, is said to be open to a move to Morocco.
Nwabali has earned 27 caps for the Nigerian national team and was a standout performer during the Super Eagles’ run to the final of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, where he played every match.
With Raja Casablanca aiming to reclaim their dominance on the continent, acquiring a reliable shot-stopper like Nwabali could prove crucial to their ambitions.
