Nigeria Will Be At the World Cup — Chukwueze

Super Eagles winger, Samuel Chukwueze has expressed strong belief in Nigeria’s chances of qualifying for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

He insisted that the team has the quality to overcome the challenges ahead, starting with South Africa.

Nigeria face South Africa in a crucial qualifier, with Hugo Broos’ men currently sitting top of the group.

Speaking ahead of the clash, Chukwueze acknowledged the strength of the opposition but maintained that the Super Eagles are equally capable of competing at the highest level.

“South Africa is a strong side. They are top of the group, but we are Nigeria and we also have a very good team, so we can compete with them,” the Fulham winger said.

“We want a good result here. The most important thing for us is to win, and we are looking for goals to make that happen.

The 26-year-old added that the team is fully committed to securing qualification and called on Nigerians to rally behind the players as they chase a World Cup ticket.

“We will be at the World Cup — that’s 100% sure,” Chukwueze stated.

“But we need the support of Nigerians. It’s not just about one person cheering us, it’s about the whole country backing us. Still, it is up to us as players to deliver, and I believe in this team. We have so many great talents, and we must qualify. That is the most important thing.”

Nigeria are targeting their eighth FIFA World Cup appearance, with Chukwueze and his teammates determined to bounce back from a shaky start to the qualifying campaign.
