Bright Osayi-Samuel has expressed immense pride in representing Nigeria on the international stage, describing the feeling of wearing the Super Eagles shirt as a special moment.
The versatile defender, who recently joined Birmingham City, said he feels honoured to be part of the Nigeria national team.

“They (my family) is proud of me when they see me play for Nigeria,” Osayi-Samuel said.
“If you look at the team (Super Eagles), there are so many good players. I’m honoured to be there, to represent my country.”
“Now it’s me representing my country, playing for Birmingham City. Every time I wear the shirt, it’s a good feeling for me and my family,” he added.
Osayi-Samuel moved to Birmingham City after leaving Turkey, where he won the Turkish Cup in 2023 with Fenerbahçe.
Known for his pace, strength, and versatility, the 27-year-old is expected to bring leadership and experience to his new club.
Since making his debut for Nigeria in November 2022 during an international friendly against Portugal, Osayi-Samuel has earned 22 caps.
He featured prominently at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast, playing a key role in team’s run to the final, where they finished as runners-up.
Osayi-Samuel will be hoping to cement his place in the squad ahead of upcoming World Cup qualifiers and the 2025 AFCON.
