Newsypeople- Chelsea have completed the signing of Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall from Leicester City, bringing him together once again with manager Enzo Maresca.
The 25-year-old midfielder has inked a six-year deal with the Blues for a reported sum of £30 million.
Dewsbury-Hall played a pivotal role in Leicester’s promotion campaign last season, starting 41 out of their 46 league matches and recording 12 goals and 14 assists.
His standout performances under Maresca’s leadership in the Championship have paved the way for his transfer to Stamford Bridge.
The English midfielder shared his enthusiasm about joining Chelsea, a club he has admired for a long time. “It’s incredible to be here as a Chelsea player. This is a club that many dream of playing for, so it’s an honor to be part of it,” Dewsbury-Hall remarked.
Maresca, appointed as Chelsea’s head coach in June, is now reunited with one of his former standout players from Leicester. The Chelsea manager has previously commended Dewsbury-Hall’s growth and development under his coaching.
With Chelsea’s midfield already featuring talents like Moises Caicedo, Enzo Fernandez, and Carney Chukwuemeka, Maresca will need to carefully integrate Dewsbury-Hall into the squad.
Nonetheless, the addition of this versatile midfielder is expected to strengthen Chelsea’s midfield options.
