Newsypeople – Liverpool’s manager, Arne Slot, has recently responded to worries about the club’s lack of summer transfers, asserting that this doesn’t signify weakness.
During his first pre-match press conference ahead of the season opener against Ipswich Town, Slot remarked,
“If you don’t strengthen, you become weaker? I don’t understand that.”
He commended the strength of the current squad, which he believes is well-equipped to compete successfully.
Although there were no new signings, Liverpool made an attempt to sign Real Sociedad midfielder Martín Zubimendi, but the transfer did not materialize as Zubimendi chose to remain with his current club.
Slot acknowledged that acquiring players who can truly enhance the squad is difficult and emphasized that improvement can stem from training rather than relying solely on new signings.
As the Premier League season begins, Slot is optimistic about the team’s potential, having introduced tactical adjustments intended to boost their performance.
He is transitioning from Klopp’s traditional 4-3-3 formation to a more controlled 4-2-3-1 setup, which will provide greater flexibility and attacking options.
