The Celtic forward, who previously played for Queen of the South and Clyde and made seven appearances for Scotland, was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer last year.
Prior to the match against Hibernian in October, the Celtics forward talked openly about his struggle with “sneaky” pancreatic cancer after making an appearance on the Parkhead field.

Frank’s son Sean tweeted in the early hours of January 1, 2023, saying: “We deeply adored Dad; regrettably, he passed away this morning, surrounded by his family.
The former Scotland international passed away with his family and friends by his side, his son Sean confirmed on social media.
In a statement, St. Mirren acknowledged their “deep regret” at McGarvey’s passing and made a commitment to “forever remember” him.
