Gunna Reaffirms Commitment To YSL Records, Addresses Plea Deal Controversy In New Album

  • Gunna has confirmed that he is still signed to Young Thug’s YSL Records label.

  • Gunna was previously arrested along with Young Thug and 26 others in a RICO case against the YSL collective, which the prosecution alleges is a criminal street gang.

Gunna in fact is still part of YSL Records even he admitted that in a recent interview with Spotify’s RapCaviar. “I’m still providing it. We still are pushing it. No paperwork has been changed. It’s as if whatever was getting and how we were pushing this s**t, it’s still going,” Gunna reiterated his dedication to the label.

The interview also gave us a sneak peep into Gunna’s private life, witnessing him eat breakfast with his mother and heated up he can be on family issues. He sparked the speculation of bringing out a new album which will be mainly a more love-based one filled with more private details as well as disclosed what his workout plan was.

The first release of Gunna song, One of Wun, came through YSL and 300 Entertainment on May 2024. YSL Records, one of your labels, was launched by Young Thug in 2016 who has also been responsible for the Hip Hop releases of artists like Lil Keed, Strick, and the Slime Language compilations.

Young Thug, who is now facing extensive and complex RICO trial, along with Gunna, was both accused in a Fulton County RICO indictment in 2022. At the time, Gunna signed an Alford plea on a single charge to maintain his innocence while pleading guilty. In a statement, Gunna emphasized that he didn’t make any statements, were not interviewed, cooperated, or agreed to testify in the matter.

Some of the fans and the artist community has mixed up the idea of taking a plea deal with the actual snitching, hence, this has brought about many added misconceptions and unwelcome pass via the wrongful anthem. Nevertheless, while almost not tried before, Alford pleas, as with the West Memphis Three, are a real thing.

Thug’s father had previously urged a Baby to “shut the f* up” and argued whether or not the rappers and bloggers who criticized Gunna had appeared in court to support Thug and YSL.
