UFO reportedly shot down by U.S. Air Force according to newly unsealed files

Newly released footage from the United States Department of War has sparked fresh debate online after showing what appears to be an unidentified object being shot down by a US military aircraft over Lake Huron in 2023.

The video, released Friday, May 22, as part of a larger batch of UFO-related files, allegedly captures an unidentified aerial phenomenon, or UAP, through the targeting system of an F-16C fighter jet moments before it is destroyed.

According to the video description, the incident is believed to have taken place over Lake Huron in February 2023. The footage shows the object gradually becoming larger within the aircraft’s infrared targeting scope before disappearing in an explosion seconds later.

The release was accompanied by additional documents, photographs and videos linked to alleged UFO activity. The All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office said the footage was “likely derived from an infrared sensor aboard a U.S. military platform.”

However, Pentagon officials cautioned against drawing conclusions from the material. In a statement attached to the release, officials said the description was provided strictly for “information purposes.”

“Readers should not interpret any part of this description as reflecting an analytical judgment, investigative conclusion, or factual determination regarding the described event’s validity, nature, or significance,” the statement read.

The footage has reignited speculation online over whether the object was a foreign aircraft, surveillance device or something unexplained. The US military previously shot down several unidentified airborne objects in early 2023 following heightened tensions surrounding aerial surveillance incidents across North America.
