Teacher on the run after flogging student to de@th in Anambra

The Anambra State Police Command has commenced the manhunt for a teacher who allegedly flogged a 12-year-old student to de@th at a school in Adazi-Ani, Anaocha Local Government Area of the State.

 

A statement from the command’s spokesperson, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, says the police received a report of the incident on July 16, 

 

Police Operatives attached to Neni Division responded promptly and rushed the victim to a Hospital, where he was confirmed de@d by a medical doctor while receiving treatment.

 

Ikenga says the body has been deposited at the hospital morgue for preservation and autopsy. He said photographs of the deceased were taken, and preliminary observations revealed visible marks of violence on different parts of the victim’s body.

 

He said the case is under active investigation, and all necessary steps are being taken to ensure that anyone found culpable is brought to justice.

 

The command assured the family of the deceased and members of the public that the command will conduct a thorough, diligent, and transparent investigation.

He urged members of the public with useful information that could aid the arrest of the suspect to report to the nearest Police Station or contact the Command through its emergency line 07039194332.
