A yet-to-be-identified man was electrocuted while allegedly attempting to remove power cables from a transformer in Akwanga town, Nasarawa State.
The incident occurred on the popular Chun Mada Street in the early hours of Thursday, August 27, 2026.
Residents condemned the act, linking repeated power outages in the area to persistent acts of electricity infrastructure vandalism.
Security agencies and the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) have yet to officially comment on the incident.
