A gateman was reportedly k!lled by suspected robbers who gained access to a warehouse and made away with motorcycles in Zangon Noma, Jalingo, Taraba State.
The incident occurred behind Alhaji Yaro’s Office (AYA), close to FastTrack Hotel on Saturday, September 26, 2026.
The victim, whose identity had not been disclosed as of the time of filing this report, was reportedly on duty at the warehouse when the assailants attacked the facility.
Sources said the suspected robbers gained entry into the premises and attacked the gateman before removing an unspecified number of motorcycles stored inside the warehouse.
The assailants reportedly fled the area after the operation, leaving the victim d3ad at the scene.
The exact circumstances surrounding the killing, including how the suspects gained access to the warehouse and the nature of the weapons allegedly used during the attack, remained unclear.
It was also not immediately established how many motorcycles were taken away or the estimated value of the items stolen.
Following the incident, operatives of the Nigeria Police recovered the victim’s remains and deposited the body at a mortuary.
The police subsequently commenced investigation into the incident, with efforts directed at identifying the perpetrators, establishing their movements and recovering the stolen motorcycles.
Confirming the attack on Sunday, the spokesperson for the State Police Command, Victor Mshelizah, said the command was aware of the incident and had begun efforts to apprehend those responsible.
“We are aware of the incident and efforts are on the way to track and arrest those involved,” Mshelizah said.
The police spokesperson, however, did not disclose whether any suspect had been arrested in connection with the incident.
He also did not provide details on the number of motorcycles allegedly stolen from the warehouse.
