At a bus terminal in New York City on Saturday, a Suspect in Murder of Amber Buckner Arrested, the Massachusetts woman suspect was taken into custody last week.
Victor Carter, 39, was apprehended on Saturday afternoon by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey Police Department in collaboration with the Massachusetts State Police, according to WCVB.
He is accused of being responsible for the death of Amber Buckner, a 40-year-old mother of four who was discovered dead in an outbuilding behind a house in Stoughton, Massachusetts, on Tuesday morning.
Amber Buckner Resident
According to neighbors who spoke to the news station, Buckner resided in the primary residence on the property for a number of years. Family members also said that she struggled with drug addiction and that her kids were in the care of the state.
It was “very simple” for officers on the scene to decide Buckner’s death was a homicide, according to Norfolk District Attorney Michael Morrissey on Tuesday, even if he did not specify how she died.
Officers could immediately tell the subject had sustained serious injuries, according to Morrissey.
According to Morrissey, Carter and Buckner “had a history of relationships,” WBZ said.
Before Carter is charged in Massachusetts, the extradition procedure will get started in New York.
