Police arrest 20-year-old lady for st@bbing pregnant woman in Maiduguri

A five-month pregnant woman, Aisha Musa, sustained multiple st@b wounds after a lady allegedly attacked her at her residence in Njentilo, Maiduguri, Borno State.

The incident occurred around 1:30 p.m. on Monday, October 20, 2025 when the suspect identified as Halima Ali Maina, 20, of Polo, Maiduguri, reportedly entered the victim’s room without consent. 

Halima allegedly attacked the victim with a knife, inflicting injuries on her stomach, chest, back, and face. 

Musa was immediately taken to Umaru Shehu Ultra Modern Hospital, where she is currently receiving treatment and responding to care.

The suspect was apprehended by the Borno Police, and the knife used in the attack has been recovered as evidence. 

Sources told security analyst Zagazola Makama that the police are investigating the case as culpable homicide with grievous hurt, with the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) leading the inquiry.
