Nigerian Navy dismisses personnel over desertion after 1346 days of absence

The Nigerian Navy has announced the dismissal of a rating from Service. 

 

The rating identified as Bello, was found culpable of desertion from naval service after an absence without official leave for 1346 days.

 

The Nigerian Navy disclosed this in a statement on Saturday, April 25, 2026. 

 

“SMUW Bello MX14540 has been dismissed from the Nigerian Navy. The rating was found culpable of desertion from naval service after an absence without official leave for 1346 days” the statement read.

 

“Anyone who interacts with him as a naval personnel does so at their own risk.”
