Man arrested for using cable wire to flog his two-year-old daughter for failing to greet him in the morning

Filmmaker and humandrights activist, Stanley Ajemba aka Stanley Ontop, has secured the arrest of a man who allegedly brutalized his two-year-old daughter in Delta State.

The suspect, an indigene of Okija in Anambra State, was arrested in the Okpanam community of Delta State after his wife raised an alarm over the severe abuse of their toddler, Blessing Obi, on the morning of Thursday, August 27, 2026.

According to the victim’s mother, the incident occurred shortly after the family’s morning prayers. The suspect reportedly became violent toward the two-year-old minor following a perceived lack of compliance with a greeting.  He then  tied her hand with wire and then used another wire to flog her mercilessly.  The child sustained significant injuries during the encounter, resulting in deep, visible scars across her body that necessitated intervention.

Stanley Ontop, intervened in the matter after the mother’s public outcry. His swift action led to coordination with law enforcement officers to take the suspect into custody, and police investigations into the severe child abuse case are currently ongoing.
